The company announced a voluntary recall affecting 36,000 cases of American cheese slices sold in 3-lb. and 4-lb. boxes.
The problem is that a thin strip of the clear plastic packaging film could adhere to the cheese even after you remove the wrapper. The company said it has received at least ten complaints, including three reports of people choking.
Recalled 3 lb. and 4 lb. packages of Kraft Singles are dated 29 DEC 15 through 04 JAN 16 and are stamped with code "S54" or "S55" following the date. KRAFT |
Customers can return recalled packages to the store for an exchange or a refund.
Kraft has posted more information about the recall on its website, and says consumers with questions can call Kraft Heinz Consumer Relations at 1-800-432-3101.
In March, the company recalled 242,000 cases of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese -- 6.5 million boxes -- because some of the boxes contained small pieces of metal.
